I Really Need to do Something About My Writing

[Awesome Lonesome: A Traveling Journal of A Loner]

I have abandoned this blog for so long. As an academic I should be writing but I’m not doing my job. So I should not blame others if I’m not so successful as an academic.

Recollecting the time when I was so into writing. It was early 2000s. I was writing a lot to counter argue those bughah people. But then I was not so successful either. Perhaps because I let my writing when everywhere scattering. So I could not make it a success.

I need to write – in both human and computer languages – and now I intend to make money from them. Pray I can fulfill this.

The PM Najib already blown his whistle for the government cyber troopers to start offensive fights. Where am I? At least if I cannot make money from my writings, I should write for a fight.

Why Goods Price Keeps Going Up in Malaysia?

[Awesome Lonesome: A Travelling Journal of A Loner]

I'll answer the question in the title at the end of this posting.

Last weekend, Sunday March 1st 2015, I went to IKEA Damansara to buy some furniture for my home. You know what, going into the parking space of IKEA was really hard. It was so much traffic.

And will you look at that, IKEA was really packed like pasar malam (night market in Malaysia). Many people complained that IKEA was costly, but this doesn't reflect in the kind of crowd it draws. Actually IKEA is quite cheap and if you consider the quality it is even cheaper. That explains why people are drawn here.

So why the goods price is always up? Answer: Because we can afford it. Those businessmen already made their calculations and they knew we can afford it. We may be annoyed first for the up pricing, but then we will just buy it. So why are we complaining?

And before going to IKEA I went to e-Curve that was just on the other side of the street. I stumbled upon this Korean professional pianist, Yang I-Deun, who’s performing every weekend at e-Curve. He has been doing this great live performing for so many years in e-Curve. He must has gotten a very good contract with the mall. Watch:

e-Curve has this view that really brought back my memory living in USA. The design is really US style. The look of the walk and the building resembles perhaps one of those places in California seaside like Laguna Beach or Santa Monica, or even one of those average shopping complex in California.

Signs of Failure to Socialize in the Facebook

  1. Instead of using your own real picture for your profile, you use a cartoon character, a celebrity's picture, or worse still, you use a picture of nothing of any figure. What? You are so ashamed of your own face? Then why are you socializing?

  2. Instead of registering using your own real name, you use some hope-to-be funny names, like "Handsome Dude", "Still Single", etc. Does your real name sound anti-social?

  3. You post offensive political content in your status. It is fine if you want to say something good about the politicians. But when you start condemning people, including the politicians, you will get bullets to your face. Never assume everyone in your friends list share the same idea with you about the politics. Be prepared for the bullets if you are planning for political propaganda.

  4. You post offensive religious content in your status. It is fine if you want to say something good about your religion. But when you start condemning other religion, it is not missionary anymore, but a holy war. Again, never assume everyone in your friends list share the same idea with you about your religion. Again, get ready for any kind of cold war.

  5. You are so into politics or religion in your posts, but you make your Facebook ID unlisted or unsearchable. You bang people so much in your wall and in your replies, but people cannot find you to do the same to you. My advice is that, whatever mission your are on, it won't work because you are a coward.

  6. You block or un-follow from your news feed anyone posting content against your political or religious idea. You sure are a person who want people to follow only your ideas. You are always right.

  7. You signed up into Facebook as a business, like MLM. Then you start promoting your products to your friends list. Is that socializing?

  8. You signed up into Facebook as an organization, or movement, etc. Good luck. If the organization is social type, then you are okay.

  9. You keep on updating the same thing on your status, like pictures of what you are eating, the funny actions your kids or cats did, the weddings you attended, etc. Like other people really it like you do.

  10. You do only 2 things is your Facebook: LIKE the posts of others, or SHARE it without a single comment from you.

  11. The clearest sign: NO ONE comment or like your status - this happens to me a lot!!!!!

Don't take it wrongly guys. I myself do those things up there. But, you know, after I read an academic article telling that Facebook is not a social medium anymore.
